In Memory of Doo Ngen Hom

Doo Ngen Hom passed away on April 16, 2004 at the age for 72 in St. Francis Hospital, San Francisco. Beloved husband of the late Sun Lan Hom; devoted father of Nancy (John Dickson) Hom, Nora (Robert Booher) Hom-Booher, and June (Bill Swerbenski) Hom; and loving grandfather Chloe and Liam Booher and Maya and Frances Dickson. Mr. Hom was born in Toisan county of China and immigrated to California in the 1950’s. After marrying Sun Lan Chin, they moved to New York where he was a chef for 40 years at the House of Lee restaurant. He was an avid tennis player and played through his retirement. He moved back to California to be closer to his children following the death of his wife. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his easy going nature. Friends and family are invited to attend the services on Saturday, April 24th, 3:30 pm, Evergreen Mortuary in San Francisco, California.
The following photo album is dedicated to celebrating the life and memories of Mr. Hom. He was a happy and humble man who loved his family, Chinese cooking, and a good game of tennis or Mah Jongg.
